Prioritizing Wellness
Prioritizing Wellness and Sustainability
Wellness is more than physical health; it’s a holistic perspective that prioritizes physical, mental, and emotional balance through our spaces, programs, and culture. The well-being of animals affects the physical and emotional health of owners, and in the case of farmers and ranchers, their livelihoods as well. By recognizing this interconnectedness, we can better serve our clients and patients, promoting their overall wellness and quality of life.
Cultivating Healthier Communities
We believe that the health of animals, people, and the environment go hand in hand, and we are committed to achieving a higher standard of excellence through green building and wellness certifications. Our WELL-and LEED-certified facilities will be built with a focus on supporting student, faculty, and staff mental health and wellness, reducing stress, and preventing burnout. The Veterinary Health and Education Complex will not only provide top-notch care for our companion animals but also be a model for sustainability and wellness.
Thoughtfully designed spaces promote:
• Fear free experiences for patients.
• Restorative time for faculty, staff, and students.
• A welcoming environment to engage clients in their animal’s care.
“As a land-grant institution, we have a commitment to the environment, ecosystems, and animals. Our building initiative will enable us to continue to DRIVE THE SCIENCE OF ANIMAL CARE FORWARD.”
Dr. Kelly Hall, Associate Professor in Emergency and Critical Care
Changing Lives Every Day
Our students, faculty, patients, and clients all play pivotal roles in taking veterinary science to the next level.
“This project represents a TRANSFORMATIONAL SHIFT in the way veterinarians provide care. The VHEC has been designed to function not only as a premier veterinary facility but also as a symbol of OUR COMMITMENT TO A HEALTHIER FUTURE FOR ALL.”
Colleen Duncan, Associate Professor in Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology
